The Police Officer Written Exam is designed to gauge the cognitive ability, observational skills, and mental acuity of interested applicants. These are the traits that have been determined to be important to the effective performance of your duties as an officer. In order to start your career in law enforcement choice, you will have to achieve a passing score on the police exam. While passing the written test is not a guarantee of a job, if you don't pass the test you won't even be considered. The NYPD offers training resources and tutorial exams to help ensure your success on the exam.
